Any tips on recreating a bassline from Datsik - Syndrome?

Post by seanski81 » Mon Nov 12, 2012 2:35 am

Hi guys,

I'm in the middle of producing my first track, but its still missing a few pieces...mostly bass.

There's a bassline from Datsik's "Syndrome" that I would like to try to produce myself, and make it sound my own. It's the most distinct portion of the track so if you've heard it, you know what i'm talking about.

I've heard this bassline before on a few Zeds Dead tracks as well. It sounds like just an oscillated bassline, with the pitch increasing as it progresses through, but i'm not totally sure exactly what its classified as, so I don't know where to begin searching for a tutorial for it.

I use Reason 5, and I have a pretty good understanding of it, so if anyone has any tips I would appreciate it!

CHEERS!

Put an LFO on the pitch, then automate the pitch in your track automation for the riser effect.

Or it might be 2 OSC's one pitch LFO'd and the other just pitch enveloped. Probably some effect automation(enveloped) too.

I only passed through the sound quickly, but nonetheless, that should still spark some creativity.
