rayman, just out of interest, if the vocal loop sampled from 'changes' in 'holy water' was made using synthesis (although i highly doubt it is - pretty sure its just a little vocal sample snippet pitched up and down to create the melody, but just say it was for the sake of argument) using a synth which can create voice-like synth sounds, would you still be butthurt that it was sampled in 'holy water' or would you then not be bothered? still trying to get to grips with your argument as it really doesnt make much sense...

no it would still be very weak

because the sample is the major point of emphasis in both tracks, they both have very similar minimal drums.
only thing lacking in the game track is the subbass

you're either a very succesfull troll or are just a bit simple cause your argument really doesnt make any sense.

i could sit here all day bringing up loads of examples of tracks from all different genres that would show your argument to be stupid but i cant be bothered. i will use one example though, the sleng teng riddim:

thoughts? are all the well respected dancehall artists who have used the synthesised sleng riddim also massively uncreative biters?

im not trolling

here is the final input

IMO everytime you sample a track, you should think through your head (I at least always do) is this ok

like is this NOT WACK to sample what im about to sample

i cant think of a situation where this producer heard that mala track and made that beat and thought that was cool

i dont know why i dont think its cool, its just fucking not

has zero to do with mala

has zero to do w/ the games producer b/c i dont even know his name lol

its a track by track thing, i cant just generalize the rules, its a feeling

if im stupid for thinking that so be it

asking me about old dudes that took samples direct from shit LAZILY and made them into hit records or something doesnt change it

haha yeah. I think Kromestar's quality control has gone up ten fold lately tbh. I love the man's tunes, and I like Ghostown, but the stuff he has been releasing lately blows a lot f his early stuff out of the water.
but I digress.
I like the holy water tune, it's official.

lets say a conservative estimate of the amount of people this reached is 500,000 (very conservative, this amount will keep rising)

lets say a very conservative 1% of people saw all the talk of Mala, checked his beats/ changes original etc, liked and perhaps bought some of Mala's music...

Thats 5,000 new fans/ purchases. Big look

It’s not like dance artists are any better

I wonder if Kelis cares this much about James Blakes - Cmyk or brandy about Blawan – getting me down
Or Alicia Keys about Mala - Alicia or even Mavado about Compa’s career building refix

Burial - ray j - one wish

the list goes on
yeah but it's not like burial just loops the first 2 bars from the ray j tune, puts his most standard ukg drum loop over it and then releases that as his own tune
