Slime is proud to welcome to the label a fresh new talent from the UK, Retrospekt. Known mainly as a D&B producer, he's started to work in other styles recently which brought him to our attention. For his Slime debut he brings two futuristic house rollers that will be ramming out dancefloors worldwide.
'Rolling' is straight out the gate with a chunky house beat that chugs along with serious intent before the oriental refrain drifts in across subtle female FX and a thundering bassline. This is a track perfect for mixing up the styles as it draws on house, disco and garage with an upfront D&B sensibility.
'Rebuilding Dreams' has a much more retro house feel to it, with piano licks peppering a laidback 4/4 rhythm and modulated chords strapped to a heavyweight bassline. Vocodered FX top the mix to give this a neon 80s feel and a perfect counter to the former track's futuristic vibe.
For the first of two re-rubs of 'Rolling' we welcome back to the label one of the most creative producers around in the form of Resketch. Retaining the slow-motion funk of the original track he adds a cinematic scope to proceedings, layering synths and retro percussion elements that expand out the rhythm with a truly widescreen feel.
For the final remix up and coming producer Livewire provides us with an utterly jaw-dropping reinvention of the original, switching it into a liquid D&B floorfiller and providing an absolute dancefloor classic in the making.
