Sounds like a solid plan, but as my boy Marc Lobliner always says - Nothing works unless you do.
Put the wheels in motion, gain a solid foundation and set yourself attainable goals.
Draw your future out in pencil because you never know what's round the corner. Your needs may change, what you want from life most probably will.
Don't take things too hard when you fail at something (and you will) but learn from your mistakes without loss of drive.
Above all, put the controller down and put in work! ;-)

i need to start making headway with singing. the only consistent interest and talent i have maintained through my life, got to do something sooner rather than later. time to get serious. -q-

Definitely solid advice. When I was tripping yesterday morning I wrote down a list of goals for my life, and they made a ton of sense. That alone put me in a positive mind frame. Next week my life's changing a ton. Like, one of my best friends (the one that just had brain surgery) is off "lockdown", so I'll get to hang out with him more. Since he just had brain surgery, he can't party, so I told him I'll kick it with him instead of partying. That will do me a ton of good. Getting my permit next week too, so I can start driving. I'll be 18 in a few weeks, and I plan on having my license and a job before the end of the month.

Speak to some of the folks on here who produce and see if anyone needs vox doing on their tunes... Unless you're more interested in writing/recording/performing your own stuff, in which case giz a shout if u should ever need a session drummer :W:

DO IT. A good voice is such a blessing... make the most of it!

And the offer of my crappy studio skills still stands... I'll play Quincy Jones to your Michael Jackson anytime. :t:

Just a word of warning, I’ve heard it is extremely hard to go from full time work back to full time education, especially when you are used to so much money coming in.

It might be worth looking at an apprenticeship in engineering if that’s something you are interested in. Im planning to go to uni (eventually, I swear!), and my company will pay me through it (as long as the course is relevant to my work). Though it’ll be day release, so Ill go to uni 1 day a week and work the other 4. It’ll take me about 5 years to do a 3 year course (or 6 years if i decide not to skip first year) and it’ll be very hard work, but eventually worth it. Oh and youll probably still get your full salary! :W:

I (think I) only know one person that ever has, and he's actually from the Midlands... and it was in Amsterdam... but every phonebox in my postcode is full of cards for escorts and call-girls, so I can only assume that someone is paying for an awful lot of sex.

It is tough to get used to, but its nothing you can't handle with some simple budgeting and time management.

the reason i asked is because last night i was reading about trafficking and "sex tourism" and wound up on this international sex (prostitution) forum where they had forums for every single country in the world, and people were all trading tips and contacts on how to pay for some sex from Bhutan to Burundi (seriously, white american guy moved to Burundi for prostitution (40% AIDS infected)) and clicking on places i know well i was pretty shocked at how common it appeared for some people to use prostitutes so openly (people are even making youtube vids for tips and stuff) so i was just wondering if it's more commonplace than i thought.

On the subject of that forum, fucking hell, like 70,000+ members talking about where to get prostitutes all over the world, star ranked reviews of prostitutes, brothel reviews, pics... people build their lives around procuring prostitutes.... a whole new world to me. They call themselves "mongers" as a badge of pride, talking about how they introduced friends and family to the world of sex tourism ("taking my little bro to dominican republic, wanted to go thailand but though i'd ease him in lol"). And most of them chat like they're baddasses or porn stars, it was quite depressing.

I think i've concluded it's much, much more common for people to use prostitutes abroad.
