Which Genre Has The Best Mainstream?

Pre-1980s shouldn't count, maybe even pre-90s. The music world was a totally different place at the time with different definitions of 'underground' and 'mainstream'. From recent years probably garage though. Hip-hop was hit and miss. Mainstream rock has always been overwhelmingly shhitay.

I'd say that mainstream blues was probably the most influential of all genres that went mainstream (not necessarily the best though)

In terms of non-electronic music possibly, but can't knock Disco and the effect that had on dance music from then on (House music and basically everything that came from that, etc.)
