Using only 1 oscillator with a high-pitched triangle wave.
I want to learn the best of this vst.
I've seen people do some strange things with it that I didn't understand.
Re: How you going to be spending your production time today?
well it's a vst version of a digital synth from the 90s with lots of PCM waveforms, so if you're into that sort of 90s soundtracky sound it's pretty awesome.twilitez wrote:Had a disk laying around for years and never really thought about it until recently. But holy shit, how awesome?glottis5 wrote:dicking around with the wavestation vst. what a great synth
if that's not your bag you might still be able to get use out of it, it does have quite a few sounds that are probably still useful. it makes nice pads and has a lot of percussion sounds. overall it has a pretty nice, cold, glassy sound to it, which I quite enjoy. wavestation choirs are all over those old arpanet records, for example.

Ok just bounced out my first version of a tune I started working on Thursday, leave it overnight then listen back tomorrow on the bedroom stereo and my headphones and see if it stands up.
Now, onto some Think break chopping, whale noises and ambient pads...

Finishing up a quick track I made yesterday, playing around with a lot of new ideas. Feels good to make something completely different to what I've been making the past few months.

Re: How you going to be spending your production time today?
Trying to finish a tune for a remix competition. I accidentally routed a pad through a noise gate I was using on my drums and it sounded awesome so I want to find a way to keep the chopyness without the drums playing. Then I have to incorporate the vocals into it somehow, which sucks because I really don't like them

work on the build ups and some break downs of my trap neurofunk remix of an arcade fire song.

Re: How you going to be spending your production time today?
When you've finished the paper, import the document file into Audacity and get some glitches

Either I'm misunderstanding you, or this is just pure win.wub wrote:When you've finished the paper, import the document file into Audacity and get some glitches

Use the "Import Raw" menu function and Audacity will take any file and turn it into a soundfile.nnny wrote:Either I'm misunderstanding you, or this is just pure win.wub wrote:When you've finished the paper, import the document file into Audacity and get some glitches

holy shit, wub. how did I miss this? I always assumed I didn't need audacity because of ableton... But apparently I'm not as learned as I thought.wub wrote:Use the "Import Raw" menu function and Audacity will take any file and turn it into a soundfile.nnny wrote:Either I'm misunderstanding you, or this is just pure win.wub wrote:When you've finished the paper, import the document file into Audacity and get some glitches

Quite a lot of my percussion hits are glitches that Audacity has spat out after I've fed it Powerpoint presentations/big fuck off Excel spreadsheets
