9 am... the kids are running around the house (for three hours now), the smells are beginning to mount. Honestly, you blokey, laddy, chaps are missing out on this concept.

an onion has the highest sugar content of them all.

sweet potatoes rock! yams, okinawan, Chinese.... all very good! i used to make a okinowan (purple) potato mash with coconut milk, white pepper and a smoked alea salt. served with a mac nut encrusted airline chix with a pear chutney and fried potato strings on top... was actually really great!

for those who like sweet potatoes, try this:
cut them into edible sized chunks, then fry them with regular potatoes and beets with a little bit of balsamic, pepper and your favorite kind of nutz.

fuck is it ever good

All this talk about food is making me hungry! I miss my family in Seattle. Wish I've gone home. I'm in LA at a family friend's house. We're going to make cornbread stuffing. :corndance: But first, nap time.

Knell's recipe sounds so good!

Thats pretty true. But it's perfectly acceptable to eat it at x-mas too.

Oh my GOD, this was amazing. I'm going to have to hang onto this girl so I've got an excuse to do Thanksgiving again... she made a pretty wonderful sous-chef, too!

I think the stars of the table were the Sweet Potato Pie and the sausage/cranberry stuffing I knocked up in a bit of a panic about half an hour before serving. Even got told by two guests that my turkey was better than their Mum's Christmas cooking... not bad for the first one I've ever cooked!

FUCKING YEAH

I'm going to go and take an enormous poo.
