Re: Trap Music. Thoughts?
Someone make it like big and spinning and go back and forth between the negative and normal, etc. Just super irritating. And then haunt wobbles with it.

Eminem didn't sell hip-hop as some fresh new thing he did and his audience knew it.. It's just that they responded better to him CUZ he's white (and probably more relatable to middle class Amurrica than hood rap). I don't like his music (though he's got some mad old tunes), but he technically is that good of a rapper. Rhyme schemes, flow, etc.
He's legit as far as I am concerned.

while there are some racial undertone issues, to me its more like when people were calling Blink182 and Green Day Punk in the 90's.
There was the original punk, which they definately weren't
There was the modern punk, which they definately weren't
There was newer punk, which they definately weren't
They were looking the part, claiming the name, and trying to emulate the sound, but everything that defined punk they weren't remotely a part of.
Same with trap.... they dont fit the trap sound, they don't have any of the elements of trap as a culture (ie they aren't from the hood, they arent hustling to feed their family, they aren't shooting dope). They simply want to be associated with what the real trap represents musically and socially.... and much like green day and blink 182, teenagers and poseurs may love you but never in your bitch made life will you be a part of the scene you claim.

no, implying that to make trap music you have to have some idea of what trap means.... half these kids have no idea.SCope13 wrote:> implying you have to do these things to produce trappkay wrote:(ie they aren't from the hood, they arent hustling to feed their family, they aren't shooting dope).
hence why he made the reference to punk.
(this isnt my view on it btw, i just know what hes saying.)

if it doesn't look like a duck, and doesn't sound like a duck, you just can't call it a duck because you want to be associated with ducksSCope13 wrote:> implying you have to do these things to produce trappkay wrote:(ie they aren't from the hood, they arent hustling to feed their family, they aren't shooting dope).
you get called out and everyone laughs at you because A) you arent a duck and B) you look silly trying to act like a duck
No one in their right mind would call green day or blink 182 punk in 2012. They are the definition of poseur punk.
Id be my lunch money in the near future "Trap" will be looked at as EDM's vanilla ice stage. Fuck its already the butt of every joke on twitter and facebook.
Re: Trap Music. Thoughts?
I agree with you for the most part, I just dont think shooting coke is a pre-requisite for producing trap.
