Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
Love this tune. prefer it to Blawan's recent stuff
Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)

Well I cant say i liked much from that recent boiler room with Karenn, and i wasn't feeling the his he she release, or the release with the analogue cops, or the long distance etc release. prefer this to those. But yeah bias due to Blawan not having more Bohla EP type releases is also prob a factor.

Bohla was the best, but this newer stuff gets me just as excited. Besides, Happa seems to be jumping on this too. Check his remix of Dracula. Same idea really, probably just not made with hardware

Four Tet wrote this on Twatter earlier:
"TEXT020 is going to be in the shops in the next few days"
Soundcloud
Sounding crisp, can't wait to pick it up!

Sounding really nice, will be picking this one up.
Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
DJing with Happa on Saturday... hope I hear this.

Still cant understand why four tet is hyping this so much. Vocal doesnt work and apart from a thumping kick drum it sounds badly mixed down. Say what u like but you know the age thing is the only reason this is getting such press.

are you high?? The version on soundcloud sounds tight as fuck! I also think the vocal is amazing, sounds like some middle eastern techno monster altogether. A good monster at that.Perej wrote:Still cant understand why four tet is hyping this so much. Vocal doesnt work and apart from a thumping kick drum it sounds badly mixed down. Lol, Im not really much of a fan of Happa, like yes he is young, but I do think he is kinda just doing that blawan-ish sound. The tune isnt that bad though, its certainly a good tune technical wise, I just dont really like it musical wise.

Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
everything I've read about happa stresses the fact he's fifteen. if his music is any good it should stand up on its own, regardless of his age.
and yes he does sound like blawan
and yes he does sound like blawan
Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
But do you really think he can be even slightly compared to Blawan? I don't think he sounds like him that much, especially his older stuff. Blawan is on another level of production entirely.skimpi wrote:H8RPerej wrote:Still cant understand why four tet is hyping this so much. I'm not a hater of Happa so much as I'm a hater of those that are listening to the music through a filter of "omg four tet's put it up on soundcloud so it must be amazin lul", without objectively listening to it and realizing that even though it's good, it's not amazing. It's only special cos he's 15, and some people won't accept that.
Considering some of the remixes people have done for four tet I'd say this is nowhere near the top.
Re: Four Tet - Jupiters (Happa Remix)
Im not saying it is as good as blawan, Im saying you can tell he has lsitened to alot of blawan and wanted to make blawan techno lol, I think its a bit of a tame version of his latest stuff which is much harder than this happa gear. I do get the point though, that although I dont thnk it is a bad production, I think if he wasnt 15 it wouldnt get this much hype, if he was a 23 yr old making this exact same music, fourtet wouldnt be releasing it because he probably wouldnt have got to the point of knowing bout him.Perej wrote:But do you really think he can be even slightly compared to Blawan?
