What kind of dubstep would you call Skrillex? This song is pretty cool. I'm not sure if I should mention Skrillex or not. I imagine around here they're either hated or loved.

I'd call it electro, but yes all the hipsters call it "dubstep" but anyone who knows what dubstep is calls it "brostep" .

also its not a they.. how come people who don't have a clue about any electronic music always think everything is a band?

Is Shackleton's Deadman dubstep? Is it minimal? Is it techno?

Seeing as we're on the subject of genres here, I've always wondered what this sort of 140-ish breaks stuff falls into..

^^^ I'm digging these five. Would you call this more brostep or electro house or something else? Dubstep seems to have as many sub genres as metal. lol

My bad, I'm still new to this. I did make that assumption. I forget these songs are often composed by one person because they have a full range of sounds.

those are brostep
electro house is more like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHtyw76D2ac
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DO6Y9_5e7A
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai5TOtknwK0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnS2Bnuigm0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVStL7Jbnc4
they're not really related; the only connection being that some producers make both brostep and electro house tunes.

"If your chest ain't rattlin it ain't happenin'" - DJ Pinch
"Move pples bodies and stimulate their minds"
we just ride the wave
Life sucks; Get used² it.

I know that's why I put :P at the end. Perhaps should have put :6: instead. But you chose wisely to make the point, I was just shitting you ;-)

I actually see what he's trying to say. Just like we don't like Skrillex and the Circus crew being associated with proper dubstep, electro heads don't like shit like Tiesto and David Guetta being associated with the music they love.
