I did their customer survey yesterday and it sounded like their thinking about a subscription fee, tighter integration with facebook etc and putting together something like itunes or beatport.

I am very okay with this.. I was planning to become a member just for the fact that you can swap tunes and keep the comments...Id be able to replace mixdowns with masters.

AFAIK that's only the download version, the listenable one will be the same. I'm a Lite member but I haven't used the feature yet so I can't tell for sure but I think that's how it works. So it's not as good as you think. It's like literally no money at all though, I don't really see it as a problem anyway.

I hope that is not the case, i heard people talking about how they got to keep there comments while switching out the original song..

When you switch out the song it DOES change the one people hear as well as the downloadable version. However i have noticed that if the length of the song doesnt change sometimes the mobile app will continue to play a cached version it has downloaded instead of downloading the new version. Sometimes i get it to work by skipping into the middle of the song right when it starts playing. The web version updates without any hitches though - everyone will hear the newly uploaded version.

I noticed they finally made it so that the comments dont pop up over the entire wave form so you can skip around in songs with alot of comments without having to hide them first. It looks like the biggest change is that you no longer have seperate tracks/spotlight/sets pages and they are all shown on one page. They also seem to have shrank the screen space profile of the waveforms. Personally i would rather them keep the waveforms larger rather than taking up half the screen with the album art/people to follow/profile information as the waveform is usually more interesting and useful to me. I think they are also trying to implement a beatport style player that continues to play the same track as you move pages but it dosnt seem to completely be there yet.

Oh, that's great then. Just renewed my subscription so money well spent I guess. I like how the tracks take more space on the page now, they are after all why you're there so it makes sense that they should be in focus. I applied for beta, have yet to see if I'll get it though but I think it looks nice.

is there anyway to stilll be on the original one? it makes me sick, all the recommended shit is a waste of space and unfair. i like how the old one had activity of who you were following. solitude and blindness is what i feel when im sc now, a vague diluted version of what i was once comfortable with. and dont even get me started with explore. its over complicated and lame.
