I'm with you on that. I just don't think someone over the age of say, 16 should be able to. There's such a gulf in mental and physical state.

Though technically illegal no one gives a shit if two 14 year olds have sex, or at least not in sense one is taking advantage of the other just because of age. Even a 16 year old fucking a 15 year old in this country, no one will be pressing charges purely on age grounds.

For me at the age of 23 everyone under 16 looks about 12 to me anyway, toddlers almost, even 18yr olds seem a wee bit young for me now purely in terms of mental development, for the most part they haven't actually realised they're adults yet so still act like children (speaking from experience at least, a few of my mates started hanging round with/hitting on 18 yr old girls, said girls acted like bloody children), that extra 5 years on earth made a massive difference!

This also applies to 14-15 yr olds, just because you've hit puberty and are physically capable of reproducing doesn't mean you are mentally ready for it yet, this is why the age of consent is as it is. Lord knows I wasn't ready for a heavily involved sexual relationship when I was fifteen, I thought I was at the time but in hindsight I really wasn't, Highly doubt many other 15 year olds are either
