In other words, more grime, more horrible techno, more dubstep that actually has the balls to do something aside from the couple or so styles that seem to be taking over, you know we need more stuff like milanese, vex'd etc.

Less: plinky plonky, same synth sound, same simple pleasant chord progression bland housey maybe badly made attempt at garage percussion crap that all sounds the same. Less Disclosure would help with this but more specifically less people making really awful rip offs.

People ruining southern hip hop and club based rap music by deciding it has to be all about big drops and shit synth sounds with stupid vocal samples (in other words please stop this current idea of "trap music" where you're just turning stuff I liked into brostep all over again)
This. all of this.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

less negative discussion, more focus on good stuff.
this way everyone is happy. If you focus on stuff you like the music scene looks pretty rosy, as it does now imo

Less

- EDM

More

- Soul. I don't care what genre, I just want some tunes to have some life to them.

fair point, round my area this and trap are the wanky hipster genres so I'm ambivalent towards both
Ah that's a good one.

Less: people judging a genre based on it's perceived audience.
I'm speaking from my personal experience, I've only met one person into this kind of stuff that isn't an arsehole or utter pillhead moron. It isn't a perceived audience at all, its just the actual audience from the area I live in.

Good house:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnhsNpNNWKA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... RHdLJy9zCs

Good techno:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... uOMFtVPjuc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZERDcibIPU

An then the shit stuff is all this like really generic 808/909 kick & hi hat, deep stab & some square acid type bassline

The other guy was one of the 16bit guys, right?

Fuck, 16Bit were fucking cool too. Hope we get a "lost tunes" record from them.

2013, more 16Bit.
