What I wanna know is where do I download the "huh/uh" sample pack (joking).
Seriously most "trap" tunes sound like the same drumkits (understandable for drum machines) and the same running "huh/uh/grunts" etc throughout them.

Am I allowed to call my stuff like this trap?

nah you are actually right, it is in pretty much all of the amateur kits you find if you look for "lex luger drum samples"

That's because the one true halmark of Trap, other than the drum rhythms, is the TR-808.

Haven't exactly been following him that closely. TRAP.

The first half of that record is pretty solid (actually the tune ft. Santigold (I know) is one of the best on it). The second half is disastrous though.

Nah, its just in ableton. Their setup is a mac with a soundcard running 3 outputs into a mixer (which they EQ). They have 2 controllers, an APC20 and a novation launch pad. Whilst ableton obviously keeps everything in time they launch all the tunes / clips themselves.

I was with them a few weeks back and Curtis went through the setup with me, they have one controller dedicated to FX (using a load of dummy clips and faders etc..) and one controller dedicated to launching the tunes and samples then being EQ'd through the mixer.

Baauer on the other hand uses ableton without any controller and its simply a set that's prearranged and outputs through 2 channels into a mixer which he then EQ's, but all the tunes / tempo changes are chosen ahead of time.

funny how a lot of brostep producers are still making fun of "trap" music. imo brostep is a lot more laughable than trapp

So I guess it's fair to say these guys all have mad skills.

Feel like typing this comment takes more effort though.
