Soul Of Seun - The Boomslang (Loefah Influenced Dancefloor)
Only the second tune I've ever completed.
I tried to take some of the advice I was given in my first song (Wallop) and watched a couple tutorials (a few by distance). Briefly skimmed the production section and got a couple ideas. I've spent maybe 5-6 hours on this. Thoughts on this one?

Anyway, here's the finished product. Feedback of any sort is greatly appreciated.

ok im gunna be honest - the drum sounds u have used are pretty weak and dont hit hard and the bass is way to quiet and no where near subby enough - im a big fan of loefah and take a lot of influence from him myself.

Not a bad attempt for second tune.
Spend more time crafting your individual sounds and drum hits to have more character I reckon.

There's a real nasty high frequency I'm picking up in that kick. And the wobbles are seriously quiet man, get them louder.
Melodic deepness from my mind.

Not bad for second tune, like people have mentioned, kick sounds abit tinny needs tweaking abit to have more of a kick.
That wobble needs to be louder/fuller, and the sounds need playing with cause they sund like they're straight outta a sample pack.
I like the drum pattern though and you've structured the tune well, so keep trying.
Bless

Drums don't have a whole lot of power to them, felt quite weak. Maybe some layering or EQing to boost them a bit. Overall drum/percussion programming is pretty rigid and gets quite repetitive after over 6mins of the same thing...maybe some variation on the programming to switch it up a bit?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback, positive and negative. I will get more sub in my tracks. (I had actually turned the sub down thinking the bass was too much). I have a better idea of how I should structure my drum patterns now. I think I'll try shortening my track lengths as well and vary the drums. A bit unsure how to augment the wobble though. I'll keep playing around with it. (BTW I use fruity loops and still figuring out my way around it).

Samples are not really cut properly. The vocal before the drops cuts abruptly, leaving an akward moment of silence. To avoid this, or you can bring the sample closer to the drop, cut the sample later, or add a reverb so the sample has a tail, making it not end abruptly.
