Monkers - Gut (House/Free Wav)

Post by monkers » Thu Dec 13, 2012 11:59 pm

Soundcloud

This is my first go at using Logic, I'd previously been using Ableton for a year but never really enjoyed the workflow.
I had a lot of fun making this track and it was all done on a white macbook with a pair of HD205's.

Thanks :)

Good! 2:00 and onwards definitely better than what came before that. gold bassline.
the snare/clap definitely needs more work.
The percs are good, but abit too loud IMO.
At 2.40 is where the blow sounding instrument gets a little off for me. Intro could be more colorful/paddy.
Good work. Keep going

This tune seems really unsettled to me, not really a clear distinction between buildup and drop. Production sounds ok, don't like those crashes that come in approx. 2:06 though, they sound really wobbly, maybe they've been over compressed?
Melodic deepness from my mind.

Felt the intro went on a bit too long without really developing. Rest of the beat is fairly repetitive, that panned ride cymbal in particular sounds quite overused.
