Blawan's style is so unique that it's too obvious when people imitate him.

That first Clouds track is just like "I like 2-step, acid is kinda cool, and I also heard Blawan style techno is the shit nowadays... I'll make a track of the three".
Is it just me or is the UK scene more susceptible to trends than other club scenes? Starting to get on my nerves.
I do like that clouds song, yes it sounds like a blawan thing but its still good, Im much more into the other one on that release though, and the truss remix is HUGE!

It has been that way from the start. Jungle was a trend, garage, 2-step, dubstep, whateverthefuckstep... all trends.

i get what you're saying, but i'd say more that it's just faster paced as opposed to being susceptible to trends

Juno is more expensive than beatport in Belgium.

Last tune I bought was the Truncate remix of Sprecher Verdammteres and it cost me 1,56 on BP whilst it would've cost me 1,75 on Juno.

I'm not sure that you can call Jungle a trend. It's been around for almost 20 years. Granted it's now called Drum & Bass but it's still going strong.

Yeah and i remember when jungle was the cool new thing to listen to or produce, and some people were bitching about it being trendy then..

im just saying it started out as a trend.. in a way we wouldn't be talking about it right now otherwise..

'Hardcore continuum' and all that aside, i think you have to admit that trends have been a driving force in the UK underground dance music scene from the start. It doesn't have to be a bad thing.

I remember when it was cool too, but i still fail to see how it was a trend. if it had died put after a year or two then fair enough. It started out as an amazing new musical form which took influence from many genres of music. Just as Dubstep did in it's inception. A bunch of incredibly creative people got together and made something really special. Maybe it's just that the brits are more open to new ideas and are willing to roll with it regardless of the status quo.
Using the word trend implies that it was purely about popularity. Whereas music like jungle, Grime and Dubstep was around for years before it hit the mainstream.

I guess there are 2 meanings to trend really..

"Definition of trend: noun

- 1. general direction in which something is developing or changing

- 2. fashion"

Maybe you think of trend more in the sense of #2, and i think of trend in the sense of #1.

Those "Warehouse Session" mixes posted above are so great. Exactly the sound I dig.
Thanks for sharing.

RA best tracks of the year made me realize how much shit I sleep on. Barely recognized half of the names on that list.

This track's fire:
