Easier ways working with new a DAW?
So I've been using ableton for about 5 months now and I've gotten a shit load of stuff learned already. But last month I also bought Logic pro 9, so I could have more versatility in my music production. The thing is though, I go on Logic Pro and just mess around with the presets. I never know where to start, and I feel overwhelmed by a lot of the things involved in it. I've watched tutorial plenty of tutorial videos and I still have no motivation for this DAW. So the question I'm asking is, what's a basic easy way to approach any new DAW? Should I keep sticking with Ableton till I can produce a track that I'm satisfied with and then switch to learn about logic? Or should I juggle between the two programs weekly, for instance 1 week work with ableton next week work with Logic?
Re: Easier ways working with new a DAW?
I'd say just stick with Ableton, if you like using it more. It's not about what you use, but how you use it.

I tried to switch to learn logic 9 after knowing ableton in and out and i gave up after like a week
I was able to learn it but it just feels so sluggish and clunky compared to live IMO
it comes with a good demo project (helena beat) and other than that just open up the manual and read it cover to cover

How the fuck is another DAW going to give your production "versatility"? Learn more about Ableton.

Its not about the size of your dick, its about how you use it.

I hate to break it for ya, but size does matter.Mazak wrote:Its not about the size of your dick, its about how you use it.
Seriously. It does.
On a side note to OP- I don't think two DAWs is gonna enhance creativity/workflow in any way. Quite the opposite. When I first started I used Logic, got ableton, but then completely forgot about logic once i found my way around ableton.
(i had the express version though, still, interface-wise I enjoyed ableton).
I say find out what you wanna do in logic, and then find out how to do that in ableton.

Pro tip, chicks don't like dicks too big, it hurts em. It's gotta be just right, innitRappone wrote:I hate to break it for ya, but size does matter.Mazak wrote:Its not about the size of your dick, its about how you use it.

This is relevant here because having two daws is like having a dick that's too big, it's gonna hurt your creativity. Stick to one and learn it in-side out, I don't know why you went and got logic when you already have ableton though...

Why do you insist on switching to another DAW?
