I think the company started out making ceramics. It must be fairly old. I did a search for pics and loads of antiques came up.

speaking of sake Fushimi - three weeks ago I had a ridiculous night on a beach in Miyajima drinking lots of sake and gobbling kinoko-ya... saw some ufo's, studied the barnacles and crabs until morning, and surmised that the japanese were pirate folk at some point in time in the distant past...

must have been the sea air and copious rice wine that gave me a sense of all-things pirate that night...
