Different beats, whether it's similar to oldskool, techno ir whatever will always be good. Same for variation in how dark or light a tune is, as long as it doesn't go down the happy happy ardcore route...

Vocals on the other hand are a total turn off for me, some major tunes have been ruined cos the producer decided to get his girlfriend or sister to warble a load of rubbish over the top of it. Especially as it's usually some RnB stylee twaddle with the lyrical depth of a spice girls track.

Anyhoo, big up HPproductions everytime!

All i can say is keep doing what you do, dubstep needs you right now i think, what with El-B returning, Horsepower returning, Burial bringing out new stuff (sometime soon i hope), Halfstep should get a bit of a kick up the arse, would be good to have more rhythmic variety going on.
amen to that. bring on the swing and the (bassy) groove...

huh,.. new horsepower materials eh ? your early stuff still gets pretty heavy rotation from me, I've already had 'Gorgon Sound' on this morning.. TUNE.

Its all got that glorious **step** which brought me to dubstep in the first place.

couple more answers if you're still after oppinions:

1. Vocals.. yes please. Why the hell not. All of my favourite music comes both instrumental and vocal driven.

2. Half Step - WAY prefer a 'proper' step.. i dont really consider half-step to contain 'step', if that makes any sense. It sometimes helps foundation a bassline though so it has its place.

3. Dark vs Light - Well I'm coming from wayyyy back when hardcore became dark became jungle so pretty much always love it moody. Still though.. without the 'fast' drugs culture of the dubstep's musical parents, a couple 'boucier' or more 'cheekier' riddims certainly wouldnt go amiss when you start entering the 4am slow down ;)

Still tho geezah.. pretty sure whatever you lots drop on us, it'll be tidy.

My overall 2p though at dubstep in general = Lets have more empahsis on step and a little less on dub. And i wholeheartedly agree with Blackdown's words on the introspective nature of a scene listening only to itself limiting its creativity.

1. Vocals unlikely at the minute due to current recording facilites ( see date of post origination)

2.Half-Step a definite possibility

3.DARK and LIGHT....

P.S. 4am is when it really starts to get good ( for me )

(when all the toys have gone home and been tucked up in their beds, they lay their little heads on little fluffy pillows, and DREAM about it)
