Exactly the same here.

If 1:25- 1:50 was flushed out into a full song i don't think I would need anymore music the next year and a half

wolf89 wrote:don't really like this too much. tracks feel like a load of sketches thrown together. Burial sounds like he's sticking to some of formula too much. it's also a bit cheesy. Sounds like he's trying for this "it's so emotional and beautiful" edge but it sounds a little too much like he's trying. His tracks used to have more of a dark atmosphere with a more subtle melancholy theme to them. This lacks that edge. I still don't think it's terrible and I prefer it to the last ep it's just it doesn't really measure up to his earlier stuff.
Truth.

I didn't like it on the Kindred release because it felt like he'd just thrown in a bunch of random radio cuts with vinyl sparkle in between. I find it more cohesive in this release (just my 2p)

This exactly!

Although, hearing the coherency in all of the snippets, its a shame that maybe all this could have been fleshed out into what would be album 3.

or maybe he's just building up to that ;-)

im on this level. I listened to the Kindred EP a few times (mainly Ashtray Wasp) and have done the same with this (mainly Rough Sleeper). Slowly becoming one my favourite tunes. Incredible stuff again from the man.

it sounds like scanning through pirate radio stations, specially the last few minutes of truant. theres even a bit in there that sounds like two tunes being mixed together.
pretty awesome imo

Is that the bit that sounds like every burial tune ever at the same time? If so, yeah sick.

I swear Burial samples himself on one of these tracks, I'm sure I heard a snippet of 'Distant Lights' in there somewhere

Yeah definitely, think there's samples from Pirates on one of them too.
