Word, but I don't see the point. Its not funny and its definitely not helpful in any way. I think trolls just take up space and should be banned.

...of which there are many in this thread (including the trolls).

If you want completely original sounds, try a straight modular environment like Reaktor?

I have reaktor but it's complexity kinda overwhelmed me. I think massive and fm8 can spout really great stuff. I made a heavy bass on FM8 today.

I'm sure this already has been said (but then again, this post has already been done).
Unless you're looking for one to do something the other can't, its less about what they do and more about what you do with them.
Right now, I'm trying to learn SubBoomBass and Predator, and honestly I don't know if I'd buy them because I can work faster in Massive and I haven't found anything in those synths that I couldn't do in massive.
Then again, I have a friend who makes stuff with the TAL and GTG synths that is pretty ridiculous. I guess I'd say to figure out which one you want, and learn it inside-out.

I just got some crazy ambient wobbles out of Metaphysical Function.

I've actually just been using Ableton stock plugins and samples recently.

You think satire/sarcasm should be banned from the internet?

Reaktor is amazing in all senses.
Metaphysical alone is worth it.

Massive is the best for quick sounds, plus it has lots of unique waveforms. FM8 is more if you wanna sit down and have a serious long sound design session

Zebra 2 is definitely worth a try though, even if its going to take a while to get good stuff out of it.

Find the older FM7 has more of an analog sound. Older tech is usually better.

You can't compare FM8 with Massive...they're two totally different programs for different sounds.

And Skrillex uses FM8, Massive, and Operator for wobs.

I think he uses pro-52 as well, some of his sounds are presets in that synth

i learned fm8 as a result of spending so much time on massive. for me it's less about the synth and more about the approach you take to shaping your sound. no matter the synth there's always a few basic steps you can take that arbitrate what you'll end up with at the end....hopefully that makes some kind of sense.....
