$100-$200 DJ Controllers

Post by SMOR3S » Sat Dec 22, 2012 8:22 pm

Here are a few I have looked at.. I don't need something like a Traktor S2 or S4, and if I do looping, or sampling I'll prob use my Akai as a dedicated controller for that... Also I won't need a DJ Controller with a built in soundcard, cause I will just use my Scarlett 2i2...

Numark MixTrack: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Numark-MixT ... 1545208.gc (I could prob get it for $80 on Craigslist.)

HERCULES DJ CONSOLE MK4: http://www.guitarcenter.com/In-Store-Us ... 2849227.gc (I can use my AKai for Effects, since it doesn't have a bank of knobs like the MixTrack.)

Hercules DJ Control Air: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hercules-DJ ... 2286310.gc

Remember the 2i2 only has 1 output so no cueing

I'd still say that for midi dj controllers, the S2 should be the absolute baseline of what you should consider.

Couldn't I do 1/4" from the back to RCA, into a DI, then into the PA?, and then 1/4" from the headphone in on the front, to my headphones? I don't see why that wouldn't work, cause the sound would be traveling into both, but if worse came to worse, I could setup a virtual audio cable line maybe...

I do agree... I might be able to find a S2 for $400 on Craigslist...

I have no idea what that means. You can use your headphone port on your laptop for Cueing and the 2i2 for the PA I think

See: Headphone port on front, and monitor out on back... So I could do 1/4" from the back to a DI Box, and then to the PA, and still cue from the front headphone jack.. Haven't tested it since, I don't have monitors, but I might pick up a cheap stereo receiver for my speakers, just as a test...

They both send the exact same signal so no unless you want everyone to hear you beatmatching on the PA
