Flux Pavilion bells?

Post by sssShawnnnn » Sun Dec 23, 2012 3:30 am

Does anyone know where I can find bell samples like the ones that play at 0:05 in? Or what those bells are called? They're in lots of Flux Pavilion tracks.

Thanks in advance!

Seems like Eptic Bass is quit trendy right now, and I found them very interesting, so I was wondering how to *fully* create these things:

It's at 1:09, and I think it's LFO'd or something.

And throughout the whole this song after 0:20.
step by step for massive, it's so simple to do though so you should be able to make it with any synthesizer

1. Restart via gate on
2. 2 sine waves, 4 octaves apart from eachother, -24 and +24 semitones
3. hardclipper with drive all the way up
4. 1 saw wave, +2 octaves, +24 semitones (this just makes the sound a little bit smoother, it's optional)
5. lowpass filter with cutoff all the way up (this just makes the sound a little bit smoother, it's optional)

then you can play with LFOs, amp envelopes and such.

Is it some sort of backwards violin put through a granulizer or something? I have now where to start haha thanks in advance.
the sound your wanting to replicate is actually sampled from a track called Beach House - Silver Soul:

sounds like a mixture of sounds that's just been slowed down and pitched in the Lamar song.

What outbound said. It's definitely a cowbell.

Knowing the timbre of real instruments should be a prerequisite for producers. But thems cowbells sound reallll compressed tbf

How to re-create this bass sound?

Post by Joespook » Sun Dec 23, 2012 10:12 pm

I'm trying to make this deep, textured bass sound used in a lot of garage and D'n'B. I'm not sure how to describe it so here's some examples

Comes in here at about 1:57

About 2:36 here

And about 2:25 here

If anyone could tell me how to make something similar to that that'd be awesome. I'm pretty new to production by the way.

Savant - 8-bit Lightsaber

At 1:07 there is this heavy, hollow, metallic wobble which sounds great.
So, if I wanted to create bass like this, could anyone point me in the right direction on what to do?
I use Massive for basses.

Merry Christmas, and thanks for any feedback you leave :)
