I heard he likes Dune and the novels more than most movie versions.

:)

I went with 50/50. One of the best movies I've seen.
Watch that shit.
Bit of a tearjerker.

Another Earth ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1549572/ )

Still on the fence about the movie. Interesting idea, nice cinematography and all that for a pretty low budget project, but a little obvious and slightly corny in places. Soundtrack was pretty damn good though. There are much worse ways to spend your time.
was offered a job with Goldman Sachs, which she turned down in favour of a career as an artist
Cant argue with this either ;-)

i liked i saw the devil to a certain degree its not as good as lady vengeance or sympathy for mr vengeance but still better than most films tbh. as far as drive was mentioned i would rather see a pusher 4 than a sequel to drive

Just watched Tyrannosaur again with my dad. He didn't get off the couch to get a beer or to take a piss once during the entire film and that says a lot with him. He tought it was really good.

The Amazing Spiderman.

Didnt like it. Too bad they had to turn it into a lame highschool drama film.

Couldn't really get used to Bane's voice though. Don't know why but it just sounded a bit off to me.
what in the fuck. Bane's voice (and character in general) was the only redeeming factor in that shite of a movie. :U:

I definitely agree that the character was really good, no doubt about that, but I just thought the voice was a bit weird tbh. Maybe partly because I was expecting it to be different, but also because I just had the feeling that someone that looks like that would never have that voice.
It did make him sound like a right psychopath though so if that's what they were going for then they definitely succeeded.

Ok after watching Drive the millionth time, it ends like the book (albeit more artistic). I don't understand why they wouldn't make Driven into a movie with same director and actors. Is it just Hollywood bs? When they made the movie they had to know it had a sequel book.

Samsara (on Christmas Eve)

Nice as to be expected. But I didn't need another moralising undertone (except for the Jewish/Palestine issue, fucking Zionist stnuc). On par with Baraka.

I watched the Life of Pi last night.
It was actually really good, really nice imagery and beautiful set pieces.
Was a trip.
I read the book a few times, for those wondering it was a really faithful adaptation and they handled the concept really well.
CGI Animals were actually really convincing and life-like, looked like the real thing most the film.
Would recommend.
9/10.

It was also the first 3D film i had seen in regular cinema (saw em in the Imax a few times) and was actually quite impressed.
I hated how it dulled all the nice colours though.

Yeah, pretty much agree with that. I thought it was a bit predictable, but it wasn't unpleasant or anything and it was visually very pretty. Probably wouldn't bother watching it again.

Saw The Hobbit in 3D last night, the first film I've seen that I felt actually benefited from the 3D, some of the scenes looked absolutely stunning. That was what kept me interested tbh, just felt like another LOTR to me, let's walk for a bit, battle for a bit and win, repeat for ~3 hours. Struggling to see how they're gonna to manage to drag it out to another 2 films. This felt very very fleshed out to me.

8/10 (If it hadn't looked as stunning I probably would've dropped to like a 6)

Didn't see the high frame rate version though, anyone seen that?
