Skream - Fucking Nutter

I think the off kilter snares are fucking heavy personally, don't find it confusing at all - although I can understand people saying this'd go off more if the dancefloor were jazz fans lol.

Not into the squelchy sounds at all though.

Skream comes in for some stick on this forum but just when you think he's resting on his laurel's he comes and smacks you round the chops.

Seems like 2D and this are the only two times I've ever heard people hate on Skream tunes and 2D I thought was one of his better tunes. With current trends in dubstep if it's "too hectic" I'm sure it's going to be more interesting than most current releases - lighten up you stoner fucks

That was a massive thread about 2d though still, plus a few more cropped up about the same issue at the time, he's also got a bit of stick for 'using 'presets' and his album came in for a bit of stick. He's had his fair share, you pedantic fucker.

I've not heard it yet, but I'm glad he's doing strange things. It's all too easy to fall into tiring crowd pleasing formula when you become known for what you do. People endlessly complain about things sounding too samey, yet when somebody goes 'out there', the same people are often the first to complain when they 'don't feel it'. The further somebody pushes, the further the sound will go and the less impending genre stagnancy can be held off.

And nowt wrong with presets, either. I can name a bunch of big commerical artists that have used presets, but these artists priorities are in a different spot than spending hours making their own sounds.
I'd rather hear a good tune using synth presets than a forgettable one using obsessively scratch built patches. If a sound works, it works. Besides, only people who use the same synths know it's a preset. Everybody else doesn't really give a damn. Make the music you enjoy, not just to appease your peers. Innit.
