i saw the number 23 and thought it was ok. the twist was dumb, but basically it was a horror movie with the antagonist being some numerology curse.

i found it more interesting than the ring anyway

yeah, that IS a weird movie. definitely interesting though.

I just recently watched The Devil Wears Prada, and Seven. forgot how good Seven was. I really dug the attention to detail in the credit sequences for seven. I wish people were still willing to put the time into decent "handmade" graphic design, as opposed to everything being computer generated.

I'd agree...

All the same, I don't think I actually liked it that much! Mind you, I don't really like the whole twisted fairy tale type thing - I think it still freaks me out a bit from being a kid, and not liking Alice in Wonderland.

Mind you, I was pleasantly surprised by that Lemony Snickett fillum. Pretty daft, but Jim Carrey was fucking excellent in it!

Oh well.

Yeah, Se7en is sweet, seriously dark piece of film. And not your standard hollywood plotline either! Might have to dig that one out of my archives at some point

:x

Even with its painfully predictable "twist," that movie had the potential to be decent, but they fucked it all up. It's like the writer wanted to create the impression that there was an inseparable connection between the number and the main character, yet gave him completely inconsistent methodologies for deriving this number in everything he saw. Why why WHY didn't they just use simple Pythagorean numerology for everything?

On the plus side, visually, it had some really cool sets, sequences, and cinematography.

The last movie I watched was The Simpsons Movie. I wasn't expecting much, as I've long since become bored with The Simpsons, but it was okay. There were a few jokes here and there that made me chuckle.
