Scared about learning to DJ.

Haha see I notice my mistakes more when I'm drunk djing, but I def put on a better show and more organic selection to cater to a crowd.
Had many a post set conversation mentioning, "Man I wrecked that mix of x tune with y tune", to hear back, "Nah man it was great and a clean mix"

Many DJs use minimal hardware nowadays, some even pre record their mixes on ableton, then on stage practice 'the art of doing nothing'. DJing isn't nearly as hard as producing.
And you don't need books there's pretty much all the info you need scattered online. Just do the right research

On a side note - hayato was my fave char on mavel vs capcom.

They're both completely incomparable. You can also argue that if DJing is so much easier, Why are there so few big DJs who do.n't produce.
It may be easy to DJ at a competent level in the same way producing at a competent level is relatively easy (this is true because so many people can).
There are only a few DJs that are famous just on their DJing talent alone (Yunx, oneman, ben ufo, Joe Nice etc. in our scene) just like there are only a few producers who are famous on their producing alone (burial, zomby etc.)
I'm sick of hearing producers booked on their producing ability turning up to clubs and playing shit sets, while DJs who don't produce are just ignored.

There are few big DJs who don't produce because DJs are not as interesting as producers. There are far fewer famous nurses than doctors, does that mean nursing is not significantly easier to do?

You answered your own question when you pointed out that there are few big names who do only one or the other in general. Of course DJing is way easier than producing... Email a big DJ+producer and ask.

Anyway guys, to update this thread.. Basically a few users have suggested some books for me that teach about Digital DJing, so hopefully once I pick up these books and finish reading them, I won't be so scared to start using all the equipment and I'll have a better understanding of what I'll be doing.

It's like saying playing football is easier than mountain biking, their completely different. Anyone can produce at a competent level, just like anyone can dj at a competent level.
