Haha. +1 I find I learn has much from threadjacks as I do the OP's question on most music forums.

Great idea :W:

Though it's sadly no longer on sale and OP will have to pay full price for it;

Using a combination of peak limiting and low-level compression with automatic makeup, Louder effectively makes tracks louder, increasing RMS by up to 24 dB.

Also, try duplicating the track and low passing the duplicate before mixing both together. The bottom end frequencies will be 'louder'.
You're kidding right? Panning the exact same thing left and right just ends up with a louder track in the center...

Yeah when it's a different recording, doh. When you pan the exact same signal left and right, all it will do is raise the volume. You'd think you would know something about stereo image if you're a moderator on a huge production board...

Think you're getting confused with my point here.

You told him to duplicate the track (thus creating 3 exact same copies) where you pan one left, one right and one centered. All that will do is double the volume on the original track.

Double the volume = twice as loud. Simple Spinal Tap methodology being applied here, hardly brain science.

Way to think outside the box :W:

That's a whole six louder...though the louder knob I recommended above goes 24 louder. Not sure how many louder the OP wanted though, maybe call it 15 to go halfway?

6 db doubles the volume. When you do the duplicating thing, the result will be the same as pushing the slider up 6 db.
