This album is sick. Played individual tracks for a couple dys before I had to rush to the store. Anyone who complains it isn't "deep" enough or whatever as section 80 isn't listening closely enough.

Hadn't listened to anything by Kendrick before this album (ya living under a rock), but really loved the album. The story was great, the lyrics were sick, and I really loved the beats

If you're in London next friday, he's at Rough Trade East

Listened proper to his recent album. Still not entirely sold on all his rapping but still it's a fucking sick album. Really fucking good beats.

You're both clearly wrong, but GKMC has grown on me an awful lot. I've taken Compton off my phone though, it was just annoying the shit out of me hearing Dre try and rap in Kendrick's flow.

The production is better on GKMC, but the songs just aren't as strong to me... it was his subject matter that really made me fall for Section.80... GKMC seems to be back to much more generic rap subjects. I feel like a lot of it's been done before, which is exactly the opposite of how I felt when I heard Fuck Yo Ethnicity and ADHD for the first time... and I'm not convinced he'll ever rap as well as he did on Rigamortis ever again. I don't even skip tracks on Section.80 after 3 years of listening, let alone delete them after a couple of months!

(Ryan, ignore the next paragraph :( )

Hoping for some older mixtape stuff when he plays Hammersmith... if my lady and I have "a song", it's Michael Jordan and we will tear - that - place - UP if it gets played. DON'T WUWWY!

No, no and no. Mostly hype for me. I like two tracks, the others put me to sleep. Vocal delivery still a big problem for me.

I was unconvinced.

Now by far one of the best albums of 2012 by long shot

what how are ppl sayin maad beats section .80??

Production-wise, yes, it definitely does, but lyrically and overall effort Kendrick clearly put more in .80
This album had a lot of lyrical fillers. That's IMO though. There were tracks on 80 that Kendrick himself made shine. This album shines mainly because of the beats. plus I got tired of it much faster.

Unnggfffh.
It go ride to it, ride to it
Cos you never know
When a bullet might hit
And you die to it, die to it, die to it, die to it
Live you life, live it right
Be different, do different things
Don't do it like he did
Cos he ain't what you is
But we can win, wait
Let's get straight to the point
To the meaning of life
What's my purpose?
Maybe this Earth is, ain't a good place to be
How far is heaven, let's see...
Is it in the clouds where they said it'd be?
I wonder when I die, will He give me reciepts?
I wonder will the eyes of the Lord look at me?
Look at me, look at me
I'm a loser, I'm a winner,
I'm good, I'm bad, I'm Christian, I'm a sinner,
I'm humble, I'm loud, I'm righteous, I'm a killer...
What I'm doing
I'm saying that I'm human.
Now people just ride to it, ride to it
Cos I never know
When a bullet might hit
And I die to it, die to it, die to it, die to it
Live my life, live it right
Be different, do different things
Don't do it like he did
Cos I ain't what you is
But we can win, wait
Let's get straight to the point
