Its a really strange bass that they used. I would have no clue where to start. It almost sounds like some sort of noise. Let us know if u end up getting it.

yeah man, it reminds me of like a 'coki on acid' kinda wobble lol, it takes the piss becuase unless i can make a bass similar i dont feel like i can keep the tune going exactly how i want it, the main bass part is perfect i reckon lol, i used a sample of some pins from bowling getting a strike, and FUCKED it with sfx / pitch / resampleing ectect

Try organ and metallic sounds with an envelope rather than a lfo controlling the cutoff and maybe play with pitch modulation. FM is great for this kind of sounds too. Just remember to distort it and layer it. Search the forum for threads on the Coki, Requake, Badklaat and Hench midrange / basses / wobbles, there are some good threads about this sound in the past.

You know its jaded/bland answers like this that tell me a lot of producers on here are just egotist pricks that have no interest in the sound design of the genre they represent. "Play with pitch envelopes?" Thats as much help as saying to turn on your DAW, click the icon. That wasn't only useless but pointless when directing that to the question presented. Its "how do you make this sound" not throw a dart at the wall and see if you hit the target.

Not to come off as a dick to what i think all producers are, just the casual dick riders that don't care about anything.
but that is the answer, if you want more in depth, open your synth, assign envelope to oscillator pitch.

Okay, watch me now: Sound is a pluck, right? It "stabs", so the envelope should do the same movement, quickly raise, reach a peak and then fall down. Shape your envelope to look like that. Assign it to pitch and play with it until it sounds just right, maybe a few octaves up when playing a C0. Unwanted frequencies? Don't fear, use your filters and eqs to shape the sound even more. Maybe a tiny bit of filtered reverb and delay.

See? I wasted three lines explaining you how to do something that was already clarified, all you had to do was try and be experimentative. That's called musicality and you need it to produce music. You could've also used the right thread for this kind of question and stop bitching. It's a tough world out there.

ok sorry for the overreaction, I'm just tired of getting told simple answers that sometimes sound "too simple". I know that this is probably the wrong approach when it comes down to it but it could always very well be simple :/

oh and as for the right thread thing, where would that be? I thought this one was about the production?

grab a bag of potato chips and crush it repeatedly and then tightly wind up a spool of heavy wire cables over and over.

:P but seriously...the chrunchier less wobbley sound, sounds like some kind of quick chopped up resampled reese bass. just done shorter, faster and crunchier than usual reese/neuro basses. especially in the vip mix.

Sounds like a resampled reese with a fast square lfo on the cutoff to me.

because it's too simple. when you are at that point you will finally understand. It's about knowing enough about everything to be able to figure things out. it's a developed ability

Sounds like extreme amounts of bitcrushing to me. Down all the way to 4 bits or something.

I don't know if you're in Ableton, but as mentioned before, it sounds like pitch envelope and Ableton's vocoder or some sort of reverb to me.

Made this in massive to help somebody out making a different sound; it's basically the same thing. Let me know if you're interested and I'll explain it.

(Brostep Warning)
Curious on the high pitch bass at 1:28. Getting fairly close in Massive, would be cool if someone has already cracked down on it.

How far have you come with this? Basically, just take a saw or something and apply an envelope on the pitch and you should already be in the ballpark.
Btw, just have to say that I'm surprised at how many producers actually sampled Skrillex's growl from syndicate and used it in their tracks without doing much to it... Kinda lame

Linking Massive's performer to the pitch and the inverse to the cutoff of filter is a nice way to get the sych'd pitching and cutoff.

Thats explained kinda badly - I'll post a screenshot if you need more info.
