Bullshit. This is a piss weak track regardless of the name attached to it.
Re: New Skrillex EP (LEAVING) - Thoughts? 3 Songs.
Tbh...take the vocals out and take away all the stupid amounts of compression and eq, and it might be half decent..but it just feel plastic and lacks any and all rawness and emotion which this kind of music is really all about

After deductive reasoning I can conclude that skrylax put absolutely no forethought into the use of the vocal sample "leaving" which bores the question, why??????¿

I'm now wondering if he made this track to show all the "haters" that he can make deeper tunes also, or if he sees that brostep is dying and is trying to stay relevant

Re: New Skrillex EP (LEAVING) - Thoughts? 3 Songs.
which of you guys made the lyrics to Reason:
visa, visa, visa, visa ad infinitum
that's funny & pointed
as for peebs who don't like Chillex's music or image, like me,
being considered snobs,
don't mistake a little vitriolic criticism
for thinking I'm better than anybody else, which is the essence of snobbery.
I don't think I'm better than others,
just as I imagine Chillex, Skream or Youngsta don't think they're better than anybody else.
What some relative newcomers didn't have the privilege of experiencing
was when proppa dubstep was fresh & there weren't that many people got it
and they felt a communality that inevitably disappears with mass audiences.
Even some of the producers at the time were so young that they didn't fully appreciate it
but more valued their growing recognition & free piss
whilst some of us yobbo punters fully realized how lucky we were to be at a place & time
that allowed us to experience directly the origins & influences of something profound & artistic.
Personally I didn't see Chillex as a new, original musical style
but saw him as a logical progression from Caspa wobble & Joker gameboy transplanted into emo.
Which would've been fine if it hadn't been called dubstep,
nor imposed itself on dubstep gigs,
which had some pretty wild brockouts well before Chillex
but they were based on wobbly sub not screeching overly-dense mids
and usually involved turntablism/dubplate culture/predominance of subs
Some of us were always going to resist being swamped by what sounded crass and shallow,
not because we don't appreciate that kids need something to claim
but because it seemed a blatantly manufactured exploitation of something we considered to have substance
(this forum has ever outed pretenders, band-wagonners & overly-blatant commercialism)
Dubstep was always going to change (that's an attraction) & inevitably become popular.
And some of us were always going to savour having been old enough to have been here when it evolved,
just as some bro fans may someday do.
Doesn't make 'em snobs.
But just to be clear: compared to proppa dubstep, in all it's permutations,
what Chillex/Datsik/Excision/Borgore do is histrionic pap imo

]Anyways skrillex the track wasn't good or bad but the fact that it wasn't either made it bad/unrelistenable
Re: New Skrillex EP (LEAVING) - Thoughts? 3 Songs.
Never really rated Skrillx on any of his recent stuff. But in the contrast of what he's been doing, I'll give him the thumbs up on this one. Tunes are pretty good.
Except I don't get the scrolly dub one. He just mashed up some of his tunes. Am I missing something? I kept thinking, what asshole is mixing in SMANS into this tune?!? Until I realized that's actually the tune.
