Re: Benefits of releasing an EP over singles?
An EP is just generally a single these days. People love to throw the word EP around for anything these days.

More tunes than a single, less tunes than an album.

Re: Benefits of releasing an EP over singles?
you get the chance to make more than one first impression if someone hasnt heard your music before, as they're more likely to see the EP grouped together than various singles grouped together if they're not on your soundcloud and don't want to click through from where they are. it can also be a brief display of the whole spectrum of your productions if you produce more than one style of music.
personally i just like them better, cant really put my finger on why. i guess they give an excuse to contain album art too

Personally feel like an EP should be cohesive, and be more of a "sit down and listen" type experience, where a single might just be made for the dance.

you can use it as a chance to release a shit track that no one else wants cos no one will really care and just skip it but then you can still say its released and hype it up to be good

i'm doing 4 extended plays on cd. 7 or 8 songs on each. just gonna slang them by hand! 5 bucks a cd and you get a link sheet to new releases for free forever

i've always identified that feeling with albums personally.garethom wrote:Personally feel like an EP should be cohesive, and be more of a "sit down and listen" type experience, where a single might just be made for the dance.
