With me just getting back from holiday
I haven't produced anything in 2 months probably.
Time to get my ass back in gear I think.

I didn't go away if that's what you mean.
I do have a nice garden though
1000²m of awesomeness.
Plus it has been 30°C everyday.
Worked on my tan, worked in the garden, played sport, got drunk, etc.

Sounds pretty fucking spot on to me
I've got a week booked for Glastonbury this year (just seen Fleetwood Mac might be playing
), then a week in Ibiza (35mins flight from Madrid), followed by a week in the villa (35mins flight from Ibiza).
Still got 10.5 holiday days not used up for the year, even with a few bounces back and forth to London to see my family/go clubbing/etc

Nice, that sounds pretty sweet indeed.
Did you get Christmas leave?
Did you get Christmas leave?

Re: OfficeSteppers '13 (aka the offtopic but still prod. thr
Not really, I only had the 25th, 26th and 1st when I wasn't working. A lot of people who work in my team have kids/families etc, so I always give them priority for booking annual leave around the festive period.
Plus it means flights are a shit load cheaper when I go and visit my parents at the end of the month

As much as I love getting leave at the end of the year, I'd also love a mid year break.
I do get a small mid-year shutdown which is nice.
But I'd love to take the bulk of my leave later in the year when it's quieter.
It gets hectic here Christmas time with all the tourists and foreigners coming to the coast.

stuck at work today thinking of techniques to clean up the snares in the sample pack comp

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

You can always grab something like Audacity to edit samples if you're lucky enough to have a workstation that affords a quiet view.

That sample pack competition was the most fun I've had making a tune in awhile!

Yeah when it came in I was wondered how many of the one-post-wonder brigade would be put off by it's lack of 'clean' hits
Seriously though, the standard of those has been getting better and better...still waiting for someone to chuck it some white noise and a sine wave though

Haha that'd be too easy then! Is there somewhere I can download the previous sample packs?

I've got most of them going back to #5, I think...but they're not online outside of an active contest for storage reasons. Can have a dig around next time I'm on the studio machine if you want some old ones to mess with?OfficialDAPT wrote:Haha that'd be too easy then! Can't provide any historical data on who created them or what the winning submission from them was, however.
Who is online
