Grafix & The Deep End Present:

The DeepEnd 6th Birthday Special

We bring to you one of the biggest and most diverse line ups of underground dance music to hit the city!

David "RamJam" Rodigan (MBE)

For over 30 years David Rodigan has been the top dog in the ganja-scented, bass heavy atmosphere of Britain’s reggae dance-halls. His radio career began in 1978 for BBC Radio London and has seen him play for Capital Radio, JBC Radio Jamaica, BFBS and now Kiss FM, where he's stayed for the last 22 years. He's won countless Sony, BBC and Kiss Radio awards and was awarded an MBE for "services to broadcasting" in 2012. The key to his success has been an unsinkable passion for reggae music, which first took a hold of him as a schoolboy when he heard ska music in the early ’60s.

London Elektricity & MC Wrec *90 Minute Showcase* (Hospital)

For those that know him and those that don’t, Tony Colman (no 'e'!) cuts a formidable figure. Having been involved in the D+B scene since the mid-90s, the co-founder of Hospital Records has been instrumental in the development of the genre as we know it today. Responsible for some of Hospital’s biggest anthems (Round The Corner, Different Drum, Just One Second. Accompanied by the scene's most original and easy going MC Jon Wrec

Mala *Digital Mystikz*
(DMZ / Brownswood / Deep Medi / Soul Jazz)

Mala is one half of the production duo Digital Mystikz, owner of the Deep Medi imprint, co-owner of the DMZ label and co-founder of the 'System' club nights (which superceded the legendary DMZ dances). He's both one of dubstep's most respected forefathers, and a pillar of the wider sound system and electronic music community.
Tunes such as Anti War Dub, Changes, Bury Da Bwoy, Lean Forward, Left Leg Out and Eyez have shaped the genre; moving minds, legs and chest plates the world over!
His latest contribution comes in the form of his 'Mala in Cuba' album. Orchestrated by Giles Peterson (and released on his Brownswood label), it's a bold collaborative album featuring many of Havana's finest musicians.

Fred V & Grafix (Hospital/Exeter's Finest)

Their first release since signing exclusively to the label is “Find My Way”, which features on the “Fifteen Years Of Hospital Records” album. The West Country duo have been making some incredible tunes of late, coupled with a packed UK/European DJ diary, and we feel they are very much at home at Hospital Records.
