-- About the Artists --

* GLADKILL *

Boris Gladkikh, aka Gladkill, has been on a meteoric rise in the electronic music scene since he first began playing live in 2009. Originally hailing from NYC, Gladkill now resides in Oakland and is part of Headtron, where the versatile young producer’s music fits perfectly alongside the other talented artists that make up the collective. Gladkill’s Fall 2012 tour marks his biggest to date as he travels North America alongside acclaimed bass music peers Gramatik and Bassnectar.

With a heavier emphasis on songwriting and song structure, Gladkill is aiming to make music that will stand the test of time as he gears up to release his anticipated debut artist album in early 2013. When you listen to Gladkill’s songs or see him perform, you’ll discover an artist set apart between the sheets of cool bass lines and ethereal melodies. In an era where disposable dance music is big business,Gladkill makes anything but.”

* KASTLE *

The popularity of bass-heavy dance music is spreading like wildfire across the world, with many producers crafting their own styles of dubstep, grime and garage. In the city of San Francisco, CA DJ/producer Kastle has cultivated his own style of bass-heavy beats with a soulful twist. The name itself implies a fortress, a personal space that is used to cultivate a long-time love of hip-hop and R&B and fuse it with the magnetizing effect that dubstep, garage and bass-heavy music has had on Barrett and, really, the various communities of underground electronic music.

The studio and touring dichotomy of an artist’s life is a perfect yin & yang for Kastle in both his production and outlook. His professional experience as an engineer puts forth clean, crisp production, but his love for the party provides a playful bass that eats a room. Altogether, the wide varieties of vocals – both originals and sampled – are a key element to Kastle’s sound.

* ANTHONY ELLECT *

Los Angeles producer Anthony Ellect started releasing sample-based electronic music earlier this year, and quickly developed a niche sound around low tempo, chopped up beats, drips of vocal fragments and a knack for utilizing gaps between sounds. As a new producer, Ellect is still focused on developing and refining a style he can call his own. This event marks Anthony Ellect’s debut live performance.
