To be honest I was a bit gutted Swingin' isn't on the tracklist for the EP. Not that I'd know which one to ditch for it, too many big Wen bits around.

Your neck...bruvva.

And what odds on a Visionist EP to follow Beneath and Wen on Keysound? New wave ting.

Yeah definitely, they've been supporting VIsionist for a while now and he appeared on the Keysound allstars.. an EP has to happen! Maybe a Kowton EP as well.

Pure dread at 130 on Keysound from newcomer Wen, approaching the gulliest grime riddims with a cinematic lens and razor-sharp production. Fans of Beneath's fiendishly engineered rollers will be feeling 'Commotion' and 'Nightcrawler' but the truth is they're even icier and more minimal than that, the sound design more precise and punishing. It's no fluke either: the whole EP cuts like a freshly whetted blade: 'Spark It' turns on flightier, UKF-informed drum programming, but evokes the kind of widescreen rudeboy paranoia the likes of which we haven't felt since Loefah's earliest productions, and 'Road''s vertiginous drones reimagine sub-low as brooding slasher flick soundtrack. Terse, repeated and abstracted snippets of old Wiley, Young Dot and Trim bars are used as punctuation throughout, the ghosts of MCs past exhumed and condemned to roam the earth - hypemen as bogeymen. Heavy, heavy wares to chill the blood and dark out the dance.

absolutely nothing 'shit' about my post, i see in your sig that you've made a tune with the guy so you've obviously caught feelings. your post is more useless then mine - jump off the fence and post something relative to the fred title m8.

/

anyway i don't mind the ep, the whole sampling old grime sets thing though really does nothing for me. (have no idea how saying this about the actual ep in the actual thread for it equates to a 'shit' post)

I see your point, does seem like everybody is doing it now... I don't see the harm though. Its not a new thing. You could say the same about dungeoun tunes sampling film quotes.

If it adds something to the tune, fill your boots. A good sample can add so much to a tune.

^yeah i hear you mate, but look how thriving that sound is now. like you said, there's no harm in it and it seems to pop off more to the current 'dubstep' heads, but you can see how it comes across as a stale idea if you've heard it done before right? cheers for the decent reply anyway bro.

this epochalypso breh...

'shitty post' uno, more time i'm just trolling on here but posting something relative to the ep and true = 'shit'. what an absolute moron. wouldn't even expect blackdown, the guy who's actually released it, to reply with such a mundane post.
