The subdued nature of the image underlines it`s importance, but this is actually the end of the second world war in Europe. It was signed in a non-descript redbrick schoolhouse in Rheims, north-western France, that was serving as the Allied forces` headquarters. The picture of Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin all sat together was just propaganda as the war had already officially finished.

I`ve been to see it, worth a visit if you`re in France, Belgium, Holland or west Germany.
