Representing Baltimore, Joe Nice is universally recognized as the ambassador of the dubstep sound in North America and has been instrumental in the growth and success of dubstep for nearly a decade. In other words, he's been playing dubstep before it was called dubstep. He is North America's first dubstep dj. Joe's monthly radio show on GourmetBeats.com was the first to feature dubstep in the states and his worldwide fan base continues to grow with his enthusiastic stage presence & live performance, upfront selection and skillful mixing. Joe's record bag is a who's who of dubstep... If you've never heard it before, chances are, you'll hear it from Joe Nice. He is the first American-based DJ to play on London pirate radio, Rinse FM, the first American-based DJ to play the legendary DMZ bi-monthly bash and the first American-based DJ to play FWD @ Plastic People. Always armed with a current arsenal of Jungle, Dubstep & Reggae dubplate specials, Liondub's soulful, explosive, unique, and precise sets have gone down a storm of stages shared by a lengthy list of legends and luminaries including Sly & Robbie, The Fugees, Sister Nancy, Johnny Osbourne, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Beatnuts, Smith & Mighty, DJ Krush, Afrika Baambaata, Jazzy Jay, DJ Hype, Andy C, Goldie, Pinch, Loefah, Kryptic Minds and Damian Marley to name but a few. His musical mindset was formed at the crossroads of major international bass vibrations originating from Jamaica, NYC and the UK. Inspired by the global rhythm culture emanating from the streets beneath his feet, Liondub has spent a lifetime pounding that very pavement in pursuit of his passion for bottom-heavy beats. So whether behind the decks as a DJ, behind the boards as a producer / engineer or behind the scenes as a label executive, it is Liondub's uncommon ability to flow between these kindred yet surprisingly disparate musical spheres that distinguishes his creative vision and defines his professional ethos.
