^You would use the macros for stuff you want to control without using envelopes, lfo's, the stepper or performer. ;-)

I missed the stability of the demo so I got rid of my cracked massive haha I think creating a new patch every time due to the 30 min limit is good practice too. And if it's a keeper, I just take a screenshot of the essentials.

I like happy hardcore.

In spite of being anti piracy, I have no qualms using cracked versions of software I bought if it removes intrusive or physical DRM that wastes a USB slot.

I find bouncing to audio too tedious and often leave everything (I MEAN EVERYTHING) as midi.

The macro control thing took me a while also. Once I figured it out it was awesome.

Think of it as a bunch of shit you can link to one knob. You've got lfos, envelopes, volume, fader, and other shit hooked up to one knob. The more you turn that macro knob, the more shit happens to your shit.

Just assign some things to one of the macro knobs and start turning it. You'll hear it.

*edit* you don't actually assign things to the macro knob. You assign the macro knob to the usuall parameters in massive.

Sometimes I listen to a loop I made for hours...
Not even listening critically just in a trance like loop state.

1) I'm too stinge to buy any add-on VSTs etc.
2) I always hate my own productions and hardly ever export any of my tracks.
3) I never usually keep a tune on Soundcloud for more than a week because I'm embarrassed.
4) I spend hours on end looking for decent samples... and fail. (Again, I'm too stinge to buy good packs)
5) My tracks somehow sound better when I stick a limiter on the master rather than mixing them decently.

That's all I can think of from the top of my head :P

All I ever make is loops and get so up my own arse that they are amazing, listen to it repeatedly, and never can expand from it

this is my only problem with ableton

i love the loop-building window but it's difficult to build tunes up from it

I rarely ever use the session view "the loop window" (only for mixing etc) I just end up making an 8 bar ... thing... in the arrangement view, then loop it and listen to it for a bit and then think; "fuck, what can I do with this?".

Once that happens I usually just rage quit :u:

It basically mixes a signal identical to the original signal but a slightly delayed version of it and I mean SLIGHTLY as in (<20 milliseconds) The delayed track is then slowed down slightly and sped back up to catch up with the original original signal and that's why you hear that sweeping sound.

Here's a good one;

my lack of confidence in my production has made me underperform for a long time. I'm a much better producer than I give myself credit for

Turn the knobs in a way you think sounds cool and then have an evelope, LFO, or performer turn them for you!

I chain smoke cigarettes when I produce, so much that when I leave the room to make a pot of coffee or something I get a rush of smoke hit me when I open the door.

Producing is killing me.
