yeah, the one main difference is you can't play the notes in with a midi keyboard/pads if u use audio.ehbrums1 wrote:noDubMikey wrote:Does it make any difference laying out the kick and snare in audio instead of MIDI?ehbrums1 wrote:kick and snare i lay down in audio and hats i tap out in midi

Re: Drum programming
Dragging and dropping audio into the sequencer and doing it all manually.

If your DAW has the capability to clone audio fast; its just a matter of colouring then changing ADSR/PItch/Velocity of the new hit.
I find midi drums are MUCH more fiddly than raw audio.

I've tried a few, but it's like working with Nasa esquipment to me. Trackers are the only thing that ever made sense to me :0Artie Fufkin wrote:someone who knows what I'm talking about. have you used/are fluent with any other daws?Genevieve wrote:Just use a tracker.

Re: Drum programming
heh, ya I feel like I have one hand tied behind my back trying to do beats in anything else. Too much mouse, not enough keyboard lol.
I had used a few programs that had step sequencers with on/off buttons like the one in fruity loops and a piano roll before I really got into production, but I learned most of what I know with Renoise and Audacity, so that's what make sense to me. Been using Renoise for 4 years.
