Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 38 // VOTING OPEN
TBH it's funny seeing who was giving it the big talk in the thread and then didn't end up submitting anything

I agree with your first statement.
They're mostly decent but nothing outstanding.

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 38 // VOTING OPEN
I find it interesting how dark most of these tunes are.
The samples seem to lend themselves more to the styles submitted.
I didn't even download the pack so I don't even know what the individual samples sound like.
Which makes it even more interesting hearing the general tone in most of the tracks.

everyone did a pretty awesome job cutting these samples up, was not an easy task whatsoever (for me at least
)

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

Bah my mixdown sounds like ass.
Anyway, B and E are prob my favourites,I think B would be way ahead of the others if not for the change up around 2 minutes that kind of kills the floating points vibe it had. Also like the slow build on E, interesting snare and good levels on different elements too. It could prob be 16-32 bars shorter though.

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 38 // VOTING OPEN
definitely the hardest pack yet to work with. imo

66 does not divide by 7
Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 38 // VOTING OPEN
gutted I didn't finish anything. I'm shit at deadlines...
anyway I must say this was quite a challenge. I only managed to get a semi decent loop going and my sunday comedown was too heavy to make any music...
I find alpha is the best one though. at least the first couple of minutes of alpha, like until the point where it goes crazy

I thought alpha was a serious overuse of dblue.
Maybe I missed something.

lol yeah, listening back I think I got them mixed up - alpha definitely isn't the best one! I meant Mike....Electric_Head wrote:It tends to do what you hear in alpha.
And I get what you mean by overuse of that glitch thing... yes.
