A large amount of people still insist on saying something is "more unique" than something else, or stating something is "quite unique".

You cannot get gradations of uniqueness. Something either is or is not unique. Why is it so hard for people to understand this? Things like this irritate me insanely.

Further examples can be seen as saying "PIN number" or "ATM machine"; since the N in PIN stands for "number" and the M in ATM stands for "machine", ultimately, people are saying "Personal identification number number" and "Automated teller machine machine". Madness.

Now let's say we have another group, nine 6' tall, and one 7' tall. I don't think it's incorrect to say that the 7' guy is more unique than the 6' 1" guy. He deviates further from the norm, he is more unlike than the 6' 1" guy, and therefore more unique

Anyways I don't really care either way, just wanted to point out its not as black and white as you think, and certainly not worth getting buttmad over
