touchosc over usb?
anyone know if there's a way to connect touchosc (for android) to a computer via usb? i dont have wifi on my production desktop, although it is connected to the router. i've tried tethering my phone, setting up pdanet (which essentially turns my phone into a wifi hotspot for the computer) but can't get anything happening. seems like a bugger to connect even without this problem, if anyone can help i'd appreciate it greatly.
Re: touchosc over usb?
Wifi on the desktop shouldnt matter, i can test this at home later but, touchosc just uses a local ip address and two ports to swap data back and fourth between your touch device and host pc. Aslong as both device are connected to the same router, it should work fine (wifi or not on the comptuer it still gets a local IP from your router and is just as available as a desktop connected via Wifi). Your android will have to be using the wifi local network and make sure its getting an IP form that router. Do you have a firewall on the desktop? that would possible stop the touchosc data from being blocked?
