Where can I find free percussion effects packs?
I am specifically looking for cymbals, reverse sweeps, up sweeps down sweeps, reverse crash, to make my music sound better. Anywhere on the web I can find them?

There's tons of free user sample packs but you'll probably have to sift through them to find some quality samples. Just search youtube for like, "free sweeps sample pack," or something to that degree. There are a lot of good ones on producers facebook pages but you'll have to like the page first to download them.
7 year old BROstep/Trapstep/Chillstep producer from India. Young. Talented. 7 Years Old. Super skilled for age. Signed to NOW22. Biography written in 3rd person on soundcloud OBVI. The next Skrillex. Wait I don't even like him anymore LOL. Super talented. Only 6 years old.

Making that stuff is dead simple. I mean...just take the cymbal you are already using in your song and reverse it! Load up a simple filter and write some basic automation for whatever parameter will tickle your fancy.
No need to make this more complicated than it is. An hour of your time and you can create your own sample pack.

Fragments - You are definitely correct about that. OP is probably fairly new and not ready to tackle that obstacle yet. Samples are great as starting points for percussion or even just placeholders if you don't have the time to create a custom one at the moment.
OP - Like another said, hit up YouTube, there are gangs of sample packs out there.

Dustwyrm, while I agree with that to an extent ( he is probably new) I think the OP should look at this as a learning opportunity. Lets be honest making reverse crashes and filter sweep risers has to be the EASIEST thing to make that is typical to a dance track! If you can't be arsed to make your own risers, sweeps and reverses...??? Calling a reverse crash with a filter sweep an obstacle is absurd.Dustwyrm wrote:Fragments - You are definitely correct about that. I'm really not trying to get on anyone's case here, but...give a man a pre-made filter swept reverse crash and feed his need for a day, teach him how to make one...

Haha this was an entertaining read. Definitely agree about creating your own reverse cymbal and sweep samples. There are infinite possibilities. Bus a software instrument track to an audio track, record something, mangle the audio to whatever you desire/require. Fun stuff. Also, never underestimate the power of white noise. Lots you can use it for.
