I'm not one to bash on music genres, but Trap really bugs me!
It just gives me the feeling that it's actually just rap in disguise

‘In the US dubstep is starting to get stripped back to its more minimal form and there’s a type of music blowing up called trap, which is basically bringing it back in a full circle and making it more accessible for everyone, as opposed to dubstep which is kind of an acquired taste.’

Music never has some sort of off switch. People have been saying disco and house are dead for 40 years! No genre as big as dubstep is right now just dies off. It mutates, and mutates. I think the article is pretty silly myself, because I never bought this whole trap connection to 140. One had subbass as the focus, and the other relies on snares first, bassline second.

The whole article seemed to just be 'Yo, Datsik has started making trap.'

the phrase "as opposed to" is used excessively in that article in varying forms of spelling even

Something else being fashionable is useful for dubstep, it'll weed out the chancers & the greedy.

"Actually, a lot of UK dubstep purists who won’t stray from the atmospheric and brooding output of producers such as Kode 9 and Burial are likely to even dismiss what Datsik releases as being dubstep."

trap was imo 2005 a thing, 140pm stuff with "yo yo yo yo" "yeah yeah yeah yeah" will die ut because it sounds the same yoLike a lot of DJs, Troy Beetles has amassed an arsenal of street wear.

Well that article says almost nothing about Trap music anyway. It just seems to talk about how awsome Datsik's life is.
I can't see Trap lasting even as long as brostep has, seen as it's been so heavily forced. It seems to me like even more of an aquired taste than brostep. Certainly in the UK I can't see it going massive.

Just a bunch of scene kids listening to dubstep then jumping onto hip hop and thinking their creating some new fucking genre. Three 6 Mafia and Gucci been doing this shit for over a decade.
