I've heard it sits somewhere between a wannabe triumph of the will and the call of duty games

Silent Hill: Revelations

Shit, just utter shit. Even if I wasn't a fan of the games it was a horrid movie both in the acting and shit plot. Add in a bunch of cliches as well.

Its a bad version of homelands.

Direction is terrible, some ginger woman who cant act + america propaganda at its most cringeworthy.

Kathryn Bigelow has made her way in hollywood by first sucking James Camerons dick, and then Americas, im surprised star spangled banner wasn't on repeat throughout the film

Watched it again to see if i judged it too harshly the first time. First half is decent but it goes to shit towards the end

I could tell from the trailers that zero dark thirty was going to be garbage

It's pretty intense, I like Tom Hardy, think he does a pretty good job.

Also when they're talking about Luton it cuts to a shot of a street that I used to meet drug dealers down

Hahah alright I'll give it a go then. I've liked most of Hardy's films so far. Also just watched a short clip of when he goes to steal a 1000 pound ring and that already was fucking intense.

Killer Nerd. Wow  Here's a preview, the whole movie is on youtube if for some reason you might actually wanna watch the whole thing.

Bride of Killer Nerd exists as well apparently.

Well odd film, have to say I did like it, it sort of made sense at first and then jibbed everything off to just do some mental shit..why not, he did the Exorcist, he can do what he likes...r8 he's well down for traumatising womens tho (not Gina :D)

agreed.

also, django unchained. didn't like how accurate samuel l jackons notion was. guess tarantino had to reach some climactic point one way or another. continuity was definitely apparent, for me. all in all, enjoyed it.

Can't disagree more. Thought zero dark thirty was an incredible film.
I think Kathrin Bigelow is probably the best 'action' director there is and that Cameron should suck her dick for inspiration. Also she's been doing hollywood since point break..

I think its a very bleak and serious film in how realistic it is and how it shows all the ridiculous bureaucracy.
I don't see the propaganda bit at all, especially considering all the horrible torture scenes and I'm a huge opponent of american foreign policy in general. Homeland is ok but compared with this its like Ally Mcbeal set in the middle east.

To all the Bronson heads - you should watch the pusher trilogy from the same director (Nicholas Refn: drive, valhalla rising etc).
