Chill-grimestep sounds better imo
Grime isn't ambient. Ambient grime is. Ok, more that the vocals are all taken from grime artists/tunes. Difference of opinion I guess dude, I'm not gonna try and convince you of the correct semantics anymore haha, call it what you please.

I fully agree with garethom's statements.
The ambient thread highlighted this boards apparent lack of knowledge beyond dubstep, imo.
Regarding ambient that is.

how about "an ambient track with some grime vocals on top"

you dont need to create a new genre for every song that does things a little differently

Not very catchy is it? ;-)

Same reason this place isn't called BassHeavyMusicAtRoughly140BPMForum, I guess.

I mean, call it whatever you want, there's stupid names for loads of genres out there, should 2-step really be called UK Garage when it's nothing to do with The Garage, it's gone away from 4x4 etc. Truth is, a group of people will know what you're talking about when you say it. People seem to hate the term "Dungeon" but you know exactly what I'm on about if I said a tune was "Dungeon".

That's a good point though.
