First Gig,Mix Tips Advice ECT....

So i got my first gig coming up and im not really sure how to approach it lol...My mixing is pretty solid i can beatmatch and everything Im just iffy on what tunes to play and when to play them and ive never played on a sound system this big dont know if theres much difference but yea id like to be prepared for everything.... im not really sure if ill be able to read the crowd correctly haha....ill be up in an elevated booth so not on stage with everyone staring at me will probably help my nerves any advice tips or whatever you want to throw at me good or bad would be greatly appriciated. also i just started using Pioneer djm 600 mixer if anyone has tips or advice on doing cool stuff with the fx id love to hear cheers

Best advice is to not overthink any of it. Bring more tunes than you will want to play and just go with the flow of things. Don't try to force something that is not there and play bangers to an empty floor, assuming that will fill the floor. It's like sex, you don't just wanna stuff it in. Sometimes you have to spit on it first haha. Don't worry about using a ton of fx on the mixer either. Keep it simple.

not being funny or anything, but if ya know your tunes inside out then you should know what to play out, mixing/djm 600 wise... dont u think u should have learned this before u land yrself a gig?!?!?!

yea your right lol but my old mixer just shit out on me and its what i came up with so no really much of a choice but im not to worried about it...i just hate how the filter isnt manual lol...thanks for the response and the links man
