i mixed w/ these 2 dudes off serato last night

they couldnt do shit, couldnt cue a record (had to use 1 of those dumb little triangles that hooks up 2 serato w/ the buttons)
couldnt pitch a fucking tune to stay in time
and couldnt mix from vinyl back into serato to save their life

sad thing is the one dude plays w/ cdjs but the other GETS PAID GIGS to play brostep off a controller
and cannot mix two tunes w/ different bpms

ppl fucking astound me

might as well just pop in a fucking mix cd if im the club manager & go up to the front & dance around a laptop on facebook

how would cue points take away from the fun? kids want flawless live sets, like they here on da bbc, its the best way to really plan a set. i do love just mixing by the seam of my pants to, but when you're getting paid, you want to give the best performance possible. plus you can use cue points to make loops in songs and all that. although i only even use absolute mode in internal, so i guess my cue points are more just like digital spot markers

i just use cue points with relative mode to jump back to the first beat so i can mix faster like with a cdj
